About Jean-Paul (JP)
It's quite simple. My dream job: wildlife and conservation photographer. But wait, there's more...
My passion for photography blossomed from my other passion, love of animals. Both passions came together when I began volunteering at Cleveland Amory Black Beauty Ranch about ten years ago. I started to photograph the animals so that their stories could be told by the amazing sanctuary. It is an honor and a privilege for me to volunteer with such a wonderful organization.
Over time, my passion of photography expanded from animals to people, best friends (pets) and just about anything I can point to with my camera. To be honest, I never thought I would have the same zeal photographing people as I did with animals. It's true. However, from time-to-time I would photograph my daughter, wife, family events, and take some portraits of nieces, nephews, brother and sisters. Later, I would come across old photos taken during family reunions or trips and I found myself reliving those delightful memories. There was a joy in my heart knowing I would have those moments to cherish for generations and most importantly, share with my daughter as she takes her journey through life.
That's what did it and now you know. I want to help other people and families preserves those moments in time. I want them to feel the same joy I do when I see those captured memories on the walls as I walk through my home. I believe photos should be printed and not lost on a CD tucked away in a drawer or a folder lost deep in a hard drive. A precious photo should be tangible, displayed and shared for generations to come.
As for taking photos of pets, that's a no-brainer. I absolutely love dogs. I've rescued thousands of them from the streets. Photographed them on the streets to raise awareness. Fostered countless until loving homes were found. Trained them for many years. And of course, photographed them to create lasting memories of our best friends. To me, they are family and deserve to be part of those very precious memories. And yes, I believe cats are best friends as well and just as deserving to be honored with beautiful portraits.
Now, Bonnelly Photography has become a reality. Thank you for taking the time to learn a little about me and how Bonnelly Photography came to exist.
